Salesforce Program Manager

International Brotherhood of Teamsters Headquarters

Data and Contracts Department

Based in Washington, DC (In-Person, Full-Time)

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) is seeking a Salesforce Program Manager to work in the union’s Data and Contracts Department.

Employer Background

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters union is the largest and most diverse union in the country with over 1.3 million members. For more than a century, the Teamsters union has been standing up for working people. Beyond freight drivers and warehouse workers, the Teamsters represent workers in virtually every occupation imaginable – from airline pilots to zookeepers, and nearly everything in between.

The Data and Contracts Department offers technology solutions to help Teamster local unions use digital resources more efficiently and effectively. Created as part of the Teamsters’ commitment to increasing union membership and securing strong contracts, the Data and Contracts Department serves local affiliates and Teamsters trade divisions/conferences as a key clearinghouse for statistical and contracts information. The department also develops, deploys, and maintains a Salesforce platform that tracks data and empowers stakeholders in a range of activities across the union.

Position Description

The Salesforce Program Manager leads the administration, development, and deployment of the IBT's Salesforce platform. This position supports Salesforce platforms used by Teamster local unions – and also contributes to other Salesforce-related projects – to meet the evolving data needs across the Teamsters.

This position’s day-to-day work will likely include some combination of the activities below:

  1. Administers complex Salesforce configurations, including user and profile management, reporting and dashboards, flow creation, object and field creation, external integrations, and webforms.

  3. Manages complex permission sets and sharing models for a wide range of user types.
  4. Supports the creation of technical documentation for Salesforce configurations and related integrations.
  5. Maintains data quality protocols and identifies issues with external data prior to importing that data into the system.
  6. Oversees release cycles, prioritizes feature requests, and integrates third-party tools by collaborating with external vendors.
  7. Provides technical expertise and input on the strategic direction to meet the Teamsters’ organizational data needs.
  8. Creates and organizes documentation for system configurations and integrations.
  9. Imports, cleans, and exports data using various file formats including Microsoft Excel and delimited text files, and communicates protocols for importing/exporting.

The successful candidate is a curious, analytical thinker with technical expertise and a strong understanding of (and empathy for) Salesforce users. This candidate will play a key role in ensuring that Salesforce tools and data systems align with organizational goals and effectively support digital services requirements at the Teamsters.
