Position Overview:

Insulet, makers of the OmniPod pump for Type 1 Diabetes, is one of the fastest medical device companies in the industry and we are expanding our SFDC Development team! Insulet has been a SFDC customer for many years, and as a result, leverages many of the features provided by SFDC. This role is a great opportunity to lead project delivery across a broad range of elements such as Service cloud, Health cloud, Marketing cloud, IoT cloud, communities, Einstein analytics, etc. Working in a dynamic, collaborative team environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Insulet’s Commercial functions through the implementation of new SFDC solutions, maintenance of existing functions and contributing to our enterprise integration program. 


The Lead Salesforce Developer will have technical oversight over processes ranging from sales enablement, to customer intake, opportunity management and order placement, customer onboarding and training, and support through self-service portal, call-center, live chat, and more. The Lead Salesforce Developer is a subject matter expert in leveraging the Salesforce platform to extend current functionality and implement new strategic business initiatives in an effective and scalable manner. 


The candidate will be empowered to drive initiatives from a concept to a delivered product, with strong cross-functional collaboration but minimal supervision, providing guidance and direction to implementation teams. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to guide and to enforce development and design standards on teams including on-shore and off-shore resources. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of Salesforce.com that grows with ongoing research into the latest advancements of the platform. 


Responsibilities:

  1. Own overall architecture, design, and development of the end-to-end solution
  2. Maintain the Insulet Core Application Development Practices guide
  3. Assist teams with DevOps escalations and advanced development strategies
  4. Serve as escalation/collaboration point for fellow technical leads, analysts, developers on all technical questions or issues
  5. Work proactively to identify and remove technical debt and security vulnerabilities
  6. Develop and maintain system architecture diagrams
  7. Develop and maintain coding, testing standards and best practices documents
  8. Enforce best practices through design reviews and technical architecture reviews
  9. Identify and develop plans for process improvements on various aspects of development lifecycle and Salesforce platform management
  10. Conduct on-going review of Salesforce instance to ensure operational stability and compatibility with evolving business needs
  11. Develop proof-of-concepts using the latest capabilities of the Salesforce.com platform
  12. Work with project managers, solution leads, and other developers to create project roadmaps, technical specifications and ensure effective collaboration through all phases of the project lifecycle
  13. Assess the impact of proposed changes and recommend technical solutions and alternatives, demonstrating trade-offs and impact analysis to technical, functional, and business audiences
  14. Collaborate with integration leads to design and document integration patterns that support Insulet’s enterprise integration program, moving data between internal systems such as ERP, as well as securely transferring data with external partners
  15. Occasional off-hour support of production applications/processes should issues arise outside of business hours


Minimum Requirements:

  1. 9+ years as a Salesforce developer with at least 3 years working as a lead on Sales, Service, Health and Experience clouds
  2. Proven ability to lead teams of developers, provide best practice coding standards and manage a complex CRM environment
  3. Strong knowledge of custom Salesforce development including Apex and Flows, Lightning Web Components and Omniscript, basic administration, reporting and general design concepts.
  4. Strong knowledge of OOAD, Design Patterns and general architectural best practices
  5. Good understanding of OAUTH 2.0 flows, encryption at-rest and in-transit, and other security best practices
  6. Experience working on web technologies like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  7. Experience building webservices using SOAP, REST, XML, JSON
  8. Expertise in DevOps best practices, CI/CD and deployment for an IT organization of enterprise scale, either with Salesforce specific tools like Copado or Git, Bamboo etc.
  9. Knowledge or experience working with middleware platforms such as Mulesoft, as well as implementing point-to-point integrations on the Salesforce.com platform
  10. General knowledge of the software development life cycle process Agile, SAFE etc.
  11. MS in an IT-related discipline such as Computer Science, web development or equivalent experience.
  12. Self-sufficient, responsible, flexible, and motivated team player capable of managing several activities simultaneously
  13. Strong written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to document process and technical knowledge in clear, easily understood presentations
  14. Positive, results driven, rational, logical, team player


Desired Skills and Competencies:     

  1. Platform Developer I and Platform Developer II certification preferred. System, Data, and/or Application Architect certifications are a plus
  2. Familiarity with other public clouds like Azure, AWS a plus
  3. Experience managing large multilingual patient portal on Salesforce a strong plus
  4. Preferred experience supporting or working with a Commercial organization in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or any other regulatory controlled industry


Physical Requirements:          

  1. General office environment, may sit for long periods of time.
  2. Domestic travel may be required less than 5% of the time.

Additional Information:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $148,200.00 - $222,300.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
