Job Summary:

As a Salesforce Developer at Rakuten Rewards, you will be responsible for building and maintaining innovative Salesforce solutions to meet the needs of teams spanning Sales, Finance, Product Development, and Operations. As Salesforce evolves at Rakuten Rewards from being a CRM solution to becoming a foundational platform upon which an increasing amount of our business is built, we need an experienced developer to help us to achieve our vision of offering the most rewarding way to shop. In this role you will be afforded opportunities for continued technical growth and expansion of scope & responsibilities.

This role demands at least 3 years of hands-on development experience, with proven expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and advanced declarative tools like Flow. You will have demonstrated adeptness at translating business requirements into technical designs, writing high-quality code, participating in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, and adeptly troubleshooting complex technical issues. You will also be adept at managing integrations with external systems and contributing to efficient deployment processes. Minimum qualifications include Admin, Platform App Builder, and Platform Developer I (PDI), certifications. Beyond coding, you will be expected to continuously stay updated with Salesforce’s evolving capabilities, optimize solution performance, and provide technical guidance to junior team members, ensuring the delivery of reliable and effective Salesforce applications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop Complex Salesforce Solutions: Develop and deliver robust and efficient solutions on the Salesforce platform, utilizing a strong command of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and advanced declarative tools (Flow, Process Builder).
2. Translate Business Needs into Technical Designs: Independently analyze and translate detailed business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications and designs for significant features or modules.
3. Perform Code Reviews and Promote Best Practices: Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to established coding standards and Salesforce best practices.
4. Troubleshoot and Resolve Advanced Issues: Diagnose, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues and bugs within the Salesforce environment and related integrations.
5. Implement Salesforce Integrations: Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and other internal or external systems, understanding various API technologies and common integration patterns.
6. Contribute to Release Management and DevOps: Actively participate in and improve deployment processes, including use of version control (Git) and CI/CD tools, ensuring efficient and controlled releases.
7. Provide Technical Guidance: Offer technical guidance and support to less experienced developers, helping them understand complex concepts and solve challenging problems within their specific project areas.
8. Optimize Solution Performance and Scalability: Implement solutions with a strong emphasis on performance optimization, governor limits, and scalability, proactively identifying and mitigating potential issues.
9. Stay Current with Salesforce Releases: Continuously learn and adapt to new Salesforce features, releases, and platform capabilities, applying relevant updates to ongoing development work.

Qualifications:

1. Proficiency in Salesforce Programmatic Development: Strong command of Apex (classes, triggers, batch, future methods), Lightning Web Components (LWC), JavaScript, SOQL/SOSL, and VisualForce.
2. Strong Declarative Skills: Expert-level ability to leverage Salesforce's declarative tools like Flow, Process Builder, Validation Rules, and Approval Processes for efficient solution delivery.
3. Salesforce Certifications: Nice-to-Have: Platform Developer II, Sales/Service, and Experience Cloud.
4. Experience with Salesforce Integration: Proven ability to build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using various API methods (REST/SOAP) and understand common integration patterns.
5. Proficiency with Version Control Systems: Solid practical experience with Git or other version control systems for collaborative development, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
6. Advanced Troubleshooting and Debugging Skills: Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, identify root causes, and optimize code performance.
7. Understanding of Salesforce Data Model and Security: In-depth knowledge of Salesforce data structures, security models (OWD, sharing rules, profiles, permission sets), and best practices for data integrity.
8. Communication and Collaboration Skills: Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts, actively participate in technical discussions, provide constructive feedback in code reviews, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
9. Problem-Solving and Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills to break down complex business problems into manageable technical components and design efficient solutions.
10. Adherence to Best Practices: A commitment to writing clean, well-documented, testable code, and following established architectural patterns and development methodologies.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Salesforce Development Experience: 3+ years of professional, hands-on experience developing and customizing Salesforce applications, demonstrating a track record of delivering complex features.
2. Salesforce Certifications: Required: Admin, Platform App Builder, and Platform Developer

Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
