As the director of marketing automation, you will lead the development, management, and optimization of robust data-driven marketing programs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Own the marketing automation process and ensure standards are being followed across brands
  2. Provide planning and direction for complex projects as needed 
  3. Is a point of approval and review to ensure standards are being followed and steps are not being missed
  4. Estimate level of effort for marketing automation efforts 
  5. Monitor and enact changes to preserve the financial health of omnichannel campaigns
  6. Assign marketing automation resources to projects and ensure high billability among the team
  7. Own communication streams with internal project teams and client IT departments as needed
  8. Have an active role in project meetings, providing insight and answers while being able to call out when there may be issues or questions
  9. Be an active participant in client calls as needed, providing insight, identifying potential issues, and answering questions on behalf of the marketing automation team 
  10. Act as a point of escalation and support for other team members
  11. Mentor direct and indirect reports, providing guidance on technical career progression, providing feedback on quality of work, sustaining team morale
  12. Create and present annual performance reviews for direct reports
  13. Review and approve time sheets for direct reports


Job Requirements: 

  1. 8 to 10+ years of professional marketing automation experience (SFMC, Marketo, or Eloqua)
  2. Salesforce Marketing Cloud certification required
  3. Marketing and advertising agency experience
  4. Experience managing and growing successful teams
  5. Strong understanding of email marketing best practices
  6. Solid technical skills and expertise with HTML and CSS optimized for email deployment
  7. General understanding of the digital marketing landscape
  8. Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
  9. High proficiency in MS Excel
  10. A team player with strong time management skills, the ability to motivate others to deliver excellence, and poise and focus under pressure
  11. Strong organizational and written/oral communication skills
  12. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  13. Experience with SMS programs a plus
  14. SQL experience ideal
